The sun rises from the sea,
First a glow, then a glare.
Then a burst of brightness
That sweeps across the sea,
Making a dazzling golden road over
The waves to the land.

The morning star blazes,
But its light soon fades,
Scattered by brilliant sunbeams.

Only the moon waits in the west
For another night, its luster gone.
The sun dominates the new day.
